About Matt Johner

Raised on the road in one of Western Canada’s most well-known Country Music families, Matt Johner has begun carving his own path in the Canadian music industry, finding a great deal of momentum and success as a solo artist over the past few years.

Johner began his own music career at just 15 years old when he joined both The Johner Brothers, and the Johner Boys as a drummer and backing vocalist. Now 24, he developed a deep understanding of what it takes to find success as a live performer and a songwriter, and that foundation has allowed the Saskatoon native to quickly become one of the fastest rising young artists in Canadian country music.

Now stepping confidently into the spotlight as a frontman, Johner blends traditional country influences with a modern, radio-friendly sound, and has already caught the eyes and ears of the industry in a very short time. Drawing on influences such as Zac Brown, Keith Urban, and classic 90’s country, his music balances heartfelt lyrics, memorable melodies, and an easygoing prairie charm that comes natural to the budding star. After releasing his debut single in July of 2024, Johner has remained a consistent presence on Canadian country radio, including a lengthy stay in the top 10 on Sirius XM’s “Top of the Country” with “Stop, Drop and Roll”, and his most recent offering “Hello From Hell” continues to build on his early success.

Having spent much of his last 18 months travelling the world and playing over 1000 shows across 12 countries and five different continents, Johner has become a seasoned veteran of the stage at a very young age, and was recently recognized with six nominations at the Saskatchewan Country Music awards, including Male Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Emerging Artist of the Year, and more.

With plans to release a new EP in 2027, the 24-year-old is poised to continue building on his early success, and with a relentless touring schedule, a growing catalogue of radio-friendly hits, and an authentic connection with audiences young and old, Matt Johner is quickly establishing himself as one of the most exciting young voices in Canadian country music. As his career continues to gain momentum, there’s little doubt that his journey is only just beginning.
