SASKATOON, SK — Saskatchewan country artist Matt Johner has reached a major career milestone, earning six final ballot nominations for the 2026 Saskatchewan Country Music Association (SCMA) Awards.

Johner has been recognized in the following categories:

  • Male Artist of the Year

  • Songwriter of the Year

  • Emerging Artist of the Year

  • Country Album of the Year

  • Interactive Artist of the Year

  • Drummer of the Year

The six nominations cap off a remarkable year of growth for the Saskatoon-based artist, whose original music, engaging live performances, and strong connection with fans have continued to build momentum across the Canadian country music scene.

Known for his heartfelt songwriting and authentic approach to country music, Johner has steadily established himself as one of Saskatchewan’s fastest-rising artists. Receiving recognition across performance, songwriting, and album categories highlights both the depth and versatility of his artistry.
